MAYA YOGA STUDIO

A YOGA STUDIO BASED ON MAUI'S NORTH SHORE IN HUELO

MAYA YOGA STUDIO • A YOGA STUDIO BASED ON MAUI'S NORTH SHORE IN HUELO •

In this studio, poses are not for show, they are for your health. As the beloved Rumi once said, “How can you get the pay if you haven’t done the work?”

This studio offers Maya Yoga, a system of simple movements which build a foundation for more advanced practice, blending Ashtanga and Iyengar schools of yoga. This combination gives each student an opportunity to become stronger and the ability to go deeper into more advanced poses and postures.

  • There are so many reasons I continuously return to study and practice with Nicki. Her effective approach to sequencing is one of them. Nicki is a master sequencer. I leave her classes with an obvious somatic experience of the asanas and philosophy she taught. After every class with Nicki, I feel rooted in a newfound sense of balance and awareness in both my body and mind. As a yoga teacher, study and practice with Nicki has greatly improved my ability to sequence classes in a way that creates physical awareness for my students.

    DANIELLE TATIK KRAMER

  • I have studied with many yoga teachers, and Nicki is by far the best teacher I have ever had the privilege to study under. I was initially drawn to Nicki's trainings based on recommendations from several friends and they were spot on. Nicki's attention to detail has completely revolutionized my personal practice, as well as how I teach yoga to my students… It's hard for me to express merely in words how much gratitude and respect I have for Nicki. If you are reading this and are curious about classes or a training with Nicki, I can confidently say that you will LOVE your decision to practice with Nicki Doane.

    MARK GREGORY

  • Nicki approaches the practice of yoga both with a grounded sense of practicality and a deep reverence for the sacred nature of it. She offers a lot of deep, challenging work but in no way pushes people past their limits but rather encourages students to find their edge. You learn a lot about yourself and how to deepen your own practice at Maya Yoga, and you learn how you can help other people find the same thing for themselves.
